Re: Notice to injured employees about obtaining post-accident drug/alcohol testing
As you know, effective January 1, 2017, FISIF’s process for making first selection of health care provider will change to allow employees to make first selection. This change in process may change the post-accident drug/alcohol testing process for some employees as well as their chosen health care provider may or may not offer post-accident drug/alcohol testing.
Enclosed, please find a notice to your employees who are injured at work that post-accident testing is still required. If the testing is not available through their chosen provider, they may visit a Quest Diagnostics or Concentra Medical Center location for the post-accident drug/alcohol test. Visiting one of these facilities for the testing purposes ONLY does not constitute the first selection of health care provider.
Please have copies of the attached notice readily available to give to employees who are injured on-the-job.
